Burkhard Ascherl

born in 1961, studied sacred music at the State University for Music in Würzburg, where he was winner of the organ competition of the Musical Academy in 1985. In 1989 he received the master class diploma fpr organ music from Prof. Günther Kaunzinger. He held the post of the organist and choirmaster in Lohr/Main from 1985 until 1988, then he became organist and choirmaster at St. Matthias Church in Berlin/Schöneberg. In addition to this position he was lecturer for organ an improvisation at the episcopal school for church music in Berlin and head of an organ class at the Berlin College of Arts. Since 1993 he has been town choirmaster of Bad Kissingen and inter alia artistic director of the Bad Kissingen Organ Cycle. Comprehensive concert activity, recordings for radio and compact discs complement his work.
